To sure up Australia’s borders, and to protect itself from a potential threat, Mr Katter said the Government must act on building a missile fortress wall comprising patrol boat and drone delivery platforms.
He says the construction can take place immediately from places like Cairns, and Perth.
He also wants to commence a cadet program in Australian schools to ensure the population of high-schoolers are familiar with, and understand how to bear arms should the need arise, instead of as a reaction, as they are currently doing in the Ukraine[i].
“Each student at every school in Australia should be allocated a semi-automatic combat rifle and taught how to use it responsibly, in a very controlled way. This could be rolled out within a matter of six months. Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Israel – every single one of those countries have done this, and it is what Australia had also done for most of the last century,” Mr Katter said.
“You’ll find that if they do this; they will become steadfast patriots as sure as night follows day. And if anyone wants to try something with Australia, they will face a guerrilla army of five million strong. Every single military book you read will tell you that for every guerrilla, you need 20 conventional troops.
“We are a country of Europeans, exposed in an ocean, surrounded by Asia. We are a country that is mostly empty, but so rich in value. So, we must do these things to protect our country, and we must do them at breakneck speed. We must,” he said.
With Russia and China's authoritarian and imperialist leaders, Mr Katter said that the threat to Australia was real and that many of the world’s most well-known wars have been over access to oil; an issue he has been driving hard for the better part of the last two years.
“If you want to start a war, you embargo oil. That’s what everybody does. The Arab countries have done it many times where they have cut off the oil and the price of fuel skyrockets. The first world war was precipitated by Winston Churchill, quite rightly, taking control of the world’s oil for the Anglos. The second world war, America embargoed petrol going into Japan and in Europe, it was simply about Hitler trying to get to the oilfields in Stalingrad and the Bolivian desert.
“If you think I’m talking through my hat, I was saying this last year, and China did cut off a fuel for Australia, because some imbecile said, “all diesel must contain a Urea formula called AdBlue”. And the only place we could get the Urea from was China, so they cut it off.
“Did they do it because the world pricing had gone up, or because of some domestic issue? Or did they do it to serve a warning shot in Australia to “shut up and behave yourself or we’ll give you the full hog?” Mr Katter said.
“Most of our fuel comes out of Singapore and South Korea. Almost all of it comes out of refineries in or adjacent to the South China Sea. Noone is going to defy China. So now you’ve got three days supply of petrol or oil, realistically. Others claim there is three weeks supply. Well, if they cut us off, there will be lines 2km long at all the petrol stations around the country and that fuel will be gone. And remember they’ve already done it with AdBlue.
“The only person who blew the whistle and got action on AdBlue was me. And the only reason I did it was because our candidate in Townsville blew the whistle first. I checked it out with transport operators and pressured the Government to act. If I hadn’t, all the trucks would have been off the road by the third week in February.”
