Member for Kennedy Bob Katter has written to the chief executive officers of both Woolworths and Coles, urging them to return Australian dishwashing liquid brand Sunlight to their shelves.

Both the major supermarket chains have ceased stocking the popular brand, which is manufactured in Victoria.

“We are trying to encourage people to buy Australian and these supermarkets are making it harder and harder to do that,” Mr Katter said.

“Here we have a quality Aussie brand – a popular brand – that has been taken off the shelves by the companies with 85 per cent of the market. How is that supporting Australians?

“It makes no sense from either a business perspective or that of a proud Australian.

“I have written to both CEOs, asking them to return Sunlight products to their supermarket shelves.”
