KENNEDY MP, Bob Katter says North Queensland’s Coronavirus figures are being compiled from a prejudicial start point.

Today’s Townsville Bulletin reveals an additional case was incorrectly added to the region’s tally yesterday, and the Townsville Hospital and Health Service is only reporting two active cases whereas Queensland Health is saying there are five.

Mr Katter said he is not one for conspiracy theories or claiming a cover up but he does believe the figures are being compiled with the end game of giving the ‘Health Tsars’ more power.

“Whether this is occurring consciously or unconsciously I don’t care - it is occurring,” he said.

“Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing I will leave for others to decide.

“The Health Tsars are using scare tactics to accumulate more power.”

A case has come to our attention where a Coronavirus patient is in south-east Queensland, but has been recorded as a North Queensland case due to their residential address, Mr Katter said.

“The recording of cases is being done to a point where people are being deceived,” he said.

“The reality is there are two people infected when they claim there is five.

“They claim there are clusters; this language smacks of scaremongering.

“I must emphasise that I truly believe this is prejudicial compiling of the figures to continue to argue that we are right and you are wrong in terms of quarantining North Queensland.”
