5 September 2017: KAP Federal Member for Kennedy Bob Katter has taken American Terri Irwin on a tour of his Parliament House office and provided a colourful history of North Queensland after American Ms Irwin questioned if Bob was a fair dinkum, true blue, North Queenslander.
The comment from American Terri Irwin came in response to Mr Katter’s Question in the Parliament yesterday to the Minister for the Environment about crocodiles:
“Crocodiles are now killing North Queenslanders at almost one a year. Sightings at our tourism beaches and attacks on dogs are almost weekly.
Humans have unbalanced nature – introducing toads and protecting crocodiles.
Gropers ate the baby crocodiles – gropers gone.
Goannas and pythons ate the eggs – both gone.
Biggest predator, my First Australian brothers - gone.
Told by white fellas from ‘far, far, away’ that after 40,000 years they can’t hunt crocs or harvest eggs.
Would the Minister not agree, that Premier Palaszczuk ain’t gonna become no Cleopatra, no matter how many human sacrifices she makes to the Crocodile River Gods?”
In a video uploaded to You Tube today, North Queenslander Mr Katter takes American Ms Irwin on tour of his office and provides a compelling commentary into the pictures which hang on the walls, some of which demonstrate key moments of his political and bush history.
Mr Katter urges American Ms Irwin to stay tuned for more personal history of the North as told by the Federal Member himself (aka True Blue Bob).
