Katter Questions Minister on Adani
2017-05-23

23 May 2017: KAP Member for Kennedy, Bob Katter in light of media reports today that Adani has indefinitely postponed a final investment decision due to the Queensland Government’s indecision, asked a question during Question Time to the Environment Minister.

Mr Katter’s Question is as follows,

“Environment Minister: If Adani, as reported, leaves Australia, 500 million Indians go without lights and the world suffers as low grade Indian coal and cheap technology belches eruptions of Co2.

“Nth Qld with the highest unemployment and crime rates loses Adani’s $3b in exports and the other Galilee miners $6b. 90,000 jobs.
“Minister can you meet with the ‘Bludgerigar’ leadership of Qld and impose upon ‘Galilee Coal’ Advanced Ultra Critical technology and ‘super hybrid’ carbon-capture gum tree plantations and initiate a Government Authority to build an Australian owned multi-user clean electric railine?”
