Today in Question Time, KAP Member for Kennedy, Bob Katter asked in scorching fashion if the Minister for Immigration will “listen to his own backbench” and ban visas from “Nth Africa and the countries between Greece and India, exempting of course persecuted minorities, Sikhs, Jews and Christians.”

Mr Katter’s Question follows the news that Haisem Zahab from the NSW town of Young was arrested on allegations of assisting ISIS to develop long-range missiles.

The Daily Telegraph October 2014 reports “Young NSW is the unofficial Muslim capital of the outback”. Population 7000, Arabic is the 2nd language and home to 400 Middle Easterners.

And last week the, Federation of Islamic Councils President reportedly stated domestic violence is “the last resort”.

Mr Katter has publically and specifically called for a visa numerous times last year following the stabbing-double-murder at Home Hill on the edge of the Kennedy and Dawson electorate by Smail Ayad.

Mr Katter said, “After the last attempt at mass killing (Home Hill ), which was on the edge of the Kennedy electorate—some of the people working there were actually from the Kennedy electorate and the town is two kilometres outside the Kennedy electorate—I said, 'Well, that’s it for me. There are no more people coming in from the Middle East.

“We do not include persecuted minorities in the ban. You say this is anti-Muslim. No, it is not. I did not mention the biggest Muslim country on earth, which is Indonesia. I did not say anything about Indonesia. They do not have any terrorists in Albania; I did not say anything about Albania or Malaysia.”
