KAP Member for Kennedy Bob Katter has again said Queenslanders must be given the right to destroy flying foxes invading our backyards and threatening our health, not spend millions of public money tracking them.
Mr Katter said, “We are here, in spite of imbeciles like the person that made a decision to waste nearly $3M of taxpayer’s money tracking flying foxes. I don’t want to track them; I want to get rid of them!”
“Listen, you half-witted rabbit, don’t you realise that you are the one who is upsetting nature, not me! It is the natural proclivity of man to hunt flying foxes,” Mr Katter said.
“We are sick of being preached to about how we’re living in the bat habitat
“Walk in any direction from Charters Towers and the sparseness of the trees, and the stunted and gnarled growth of the trees will clearly indicate that this isn’t a bat habitat.
Mr Katter said our Indigenous fore-fathers have already tracked fly foxes.
“My forbearers, we black fellas, we tracked them alright!
“And then bloody got at them with a spear, throwing off a woomera and a boomerang, which is actually a weapon that is perfectly sculptured and designed to take out a flying fox – and that was one of the major reasons for that design and rather a brilliant piece of engineering in its own way, the old boomerang,” he said.
“Nature says we kill flying foxes and eat them, that is what nature has said for 3.5 million years.
“I dearly wish the Greenies would turn themselves into animals or birds or trees, because they simply have no loyalty to their own species,” Mr Katter said.
