Katter says the blocking of Ausgrid sale is a "clear political message"
2016-08-11

KAP Federal Member for Kennedy, Bob Katter will be sending the Treasurer, Scott Morrison a letter of congratulations in his decision to prevent the sale of Australia’s largest electricity distributer, Ausgrid -- to either of the Chinese companies in the bidding.

Mr Katter said, “clearly there is a political message out of this. There is a group of people here that are no longer going to accept the selloff of our county and most certainly will oppose the sale of economically strategic assets and monopoly essential infrastructure.

“You only need one or two people to jump the fence now and now the Government is in serious trouble.
“In this case we had already given orders to Government drafting (which I’m sure the Government knew about) knew about, specifically legislating the prevention of this sale.
“Mr Morrison’s decision is very good news for Australia.”
