The Federal Member for Kennedy, Mr Bob Katter has officially announced he is recontesting the seat of Kennedy in the 2016 Federal election. Mr Katter has been the Federal Member for Kennedy since 1993.

Mr Katter was flanked by friends and supporters when broke the news yesterday afternoon. He stood on top of City Lookout with the town of Mount Isa in the background:

“Kennedy is my home. The pubs, the rodeos, the mines, the stations, the beaches, the jungles, the waterfalls, the great western plains, this is my heartland. It would be my honor to represent the greatest region of Australia once again.”

Mr Katter will continue to put the people of Kennedy’s needs ahead of any party lines or politics.

“We will endure in giving Kennedy an alternative and fight and fight to get our fair share!”

“I’m the only Federal voice that has stood for non-city developmental dams, the end of FIFO towns, better roads for our regions… and I’m the only Federal voice who’s spoken out against foreign ownership of our infrastructure, companies and land, and fought the big banks and corporations on behalf of common citizen.”

Mr Katter also said he doesn’t know when the Federal election will be:

“In fact, I’m certain not even Mr Turnbull knows when the election will be.”
