Federal Member for Kennedy Bob Katter could not hide his joy today over the North Queensland Cowboys’ epic Grand Final win last night.

“We now have the greatest of fairytales and we now know who Prince Charming is,” Mr Katter said.

“Prince Charming doesn’t know it but he’s woken the sleeping beauty of North Queensland.

“And he wouldn’t have done it without his 17 superheroes alongside him.

“As for me, I’ve now watched the Grand Final twice, by the end of this week I think I’ll have clocked up at least seven.”

Mr Katter also paid tribute to the dedicated supporters and Cowboys founders who had seen a long held dream come true.

“My first act after the game was to ring up Michael Collins, one of the biggest donors to the North Queensland Cowboys.

“His family sacrificed a lot of money, all because he could see a dream to have a North Queensland rugby league team.

“But what he couldn’t foresee was that the outcome would be so much more than just winning a football game,” Mr Katter said.

Mr Katter will be there to welcome the Cowboys home when they return to Townsville Airport this afternoon.
