KAP Federal Member for Kennedy Bob Katter said today that he was proud to announce the Anzac Centenary Local Grants awarded to the Kennedy electorate.
$125,000 in grants was shared amongst 15 successful applicants to fund local Anzac Centenary projects that commemorate the service and sacrifice of Australian servicemen and women during WWI. Seven of the grants were awarded to projects in the Atherton Tablelands area, where many communities were soldier settlements following WWI.
“We want to thank all of the people that worked hard in putting in these applications,” Mr Katter said.
“These things don’t just drop out of the sky, people work very hard to get them.
“They bring money and improvement into our towns and commemorate this very important Anzac centenary event.”
