KAP Federal Leader and Member for Kennedy Bob Katter is flabbergasted that the Federal Government would offer incentives to State Governments to sell off valuable public assets.

“It is ludicrous that Federal Treasurer Joe Hockey has offered money to State Treasurers to sell off vital public infrastructure and assets,” Mr Katter said.

“He will be known as the snake oil salesman that didn’t sell snake oil but sold his country off and sold it out.

Mr Katter said Treasurer Hockey is a decent bloke but does he really want to be “known as the man who sold out the country from under the feet of Australians?

“Every member of the LNP will be labelled with this, and the ALP were no better – just as bad,” he said.

“We as a nation must realise what is happening and rise up against the sell off and sell out of our country.

States have been offered the federal corporate tax collected from the new private owners of the once state assets as an incentive payment for pushing through the sale of public assets.

“As we speak the Brisbane port is being sold; Qantas is being sold; Warrnambool is being sold; Graincorp is being sold. There are just the ones we know about.

“We are witnessing the biggest sell out of Australia in our history.

“I feel deeply disappointed that Abbot is not only letting this happen, but encouraging states to do it,” Mr Katter said.
