TOGETHER with the cattle Cattlemen’s Crisis Committee, KAP Leader and Federal Member for Kennedy today presented the Indonesian Ambassador with an Akubra Arena in recognition of his kindness and understanding towards the crisis facing the Australian cattle industry.
The presentation followed a series of positive conversations between Mr Katter, the crisis committee delegation and His Excellency Nadjib Riphat Kesoema Ambassador, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia Ambassador focusing on reigniting the live export trade between the two great nations.
Flanked by North West Qld cattlemen Rob Atkinson, Barry Hughes and Russell Lethbridge, Mr Katter said the relationship between Australia and Indonesia was very positive as he presented the gift to the Ambassador during a press conference today.
Mr Katter told His Excellency, “We hope you treasure our small identification, which is a symbol of your association with an industry of great mutual benefit.
“We supply the raw material and you supply the finishing and production of what is a marvellous adjunct for the people of Indonesia.
“At the end of the day, we all make a small contribution to our fellow man, and you most certainly have done that, and we take great pleasure in giving you what is called the Australian Akubra Arena.
